Miuccia Prada for British Vogue, March 2011Art & Fashion Festival has become a small university which teaches and helps young artists to start their fashion career. The main objective of the Festival is to create a platform for an interaction of all fashion business structures, to facilitate innovative projects, both on domestic market and abroad, and to deliver the highest level of professional education.
The program of the 5th annual Festival consists of: AFF Workshops (inluding Fashion Design, Fashion Drawing, Fashion Writing, Fashion Jewellery, Fashion Video and Fashion Photography); AFF Open University (lectures by fashion designers, critics, editors and stylists); AFF inMotion (classic and avant-garde movies screenings); and the night fashion gala AFF Shows.
This year, we are strongly focused on the problem of fashion as communication; we emphasize the importance of the meaning of every single design being primal to its form. The idea stands behind the success of great designs of all times like: Coco Channel’s small and bigger revolutions, Vivienne Westwood’s anti-consumerism, Stella McCartney’s ecological elegance.
The main theme of this year Festival will be explored by the lecturers of AFF Open Univeristy and the workshops‘ teachers, but also during AFF inMotion, as fashion in a movie which can tell the longest story in a nutshell. We would like to ask a question to everyone : are we aware of talking with fashion ?
